Inditex is one of the world´s largest fashion retailers, composed of eight brands (Zara, Pull&Bear, Massimo Dutti, Bershka, Stradivarius, Oysho, Zara Home and Uterqüe) with 7,504 stores and 162,450 employees in 94 markets across the world. As a single company, they focus on the key elements of fashion – design, manufacture, distribution and retail. Inditex was founded in 1963 as a small family business in a workshop making women´s clothing. Over the years its size has changed but its main principle has stayed the same – the customer’s satisfaction is the priority.
The success of their first brand (Zara) was followed by an international expanse at the end of the 1980´s. They opened their first store outside Spain in 1985 in Oporto (Portugal). This was followed by new openings in USA and Europe in the 1990´s and 2000´s and the successful launch of new brands. Inditex´s shares have been listed on the Madrid stock exchange since 2001 and are included in stock indices such as Ibex 35, FTSE Eurotop 100 and Eurostoxx 600.
Like any other company, Inditex has stakeholders: people who are affected by the running and decisions of the company. These are Inditex´s stakeholders and their relations.
