What are ASC and Citizens Advice Bureau and their main function?

ASC – A local voluntary organization and a charitable company whose aim is to help free people from their problematic substance abuse and encourage them to be active and contributory members of society.  They help people to develop their own recovery plan and offer services like counseling, community rehabilitation, and substance misuse recovery development.  This service is very accessible working over 3 districts Falkirk, Clackmannanshire, and Stirling with appointments available at various community facilities and health centers there are also evening appointments available for those who work and home visits for people who are unable to get out making this a very attainable service.  This is also a good positive environment for Jackie as it focuses on patient centered care where Jackie can be fully included in all decisions about her care and support which will help make her feel like an individual and that her wishes and choices are respected.

CITIZENS ADVICE BUREAU –  Scotland’s largest independent advice service with many offices and consumer helplines.  They look at problems people bring to their advisory services and campaign for change where it’s needed most.  They aim for a fairer Scotland where people are empowered and their rights respected.  This is a positive environment for Jackie because they have to follow certain laws such as the equality act 2010 which legally protects people from discrimination, this would help Jackie to feel that she will be respected, not judged and at ease to discuss any problems/legal matters she might have.
