How the development of construction projects changed during the previous few decades?
The previous few decades have witnessed a drastic increase in the number of construction projects in developed countries, as well as in the developing nations. This has resulted in the corresponding increased demands of the materials being incorporated for the relay of associated functions related to the construction industry. Imports and exports related to the various materials have also increased significantly in lieu of the notion. Moreover, the rising demands have increased in the number of suppliers and manufacturers of the entailed projects of construction. This includes superior quality as well as the inferior quality of the materialsbeing used in the projects.
The core construction project materials usually include materials such as steel, concrete, construction bricks, heated sand bricks, marble, cement and aluminum for the core structural composition. However, the rise in the construction projects and the associated demands has resulted in the respective depletion of the associated natural resources from where the respective construction materials are being extracted for use. According to the OECD report, there has been witnessed an exponential growth in the associated material utilization of about eight times from the period of 1900 to 2008. Moreover, the construction material use has been predicted to reach 100 Gt by the year 2030; with respect to the current figures of 62Gt worldwide. This asserts the major issue for the sustainable utilization of the various material resources in order to conform to the associated operations in the water ballast processes as well.
