The entire cloud environment is not under customer’s control. Hence there might not be complete transparency and no guarantee for non-occurrence of security-related faults.
As per this proposal, the application and data will be managed in Pubic cloud model which is a multi-tenant environment where even data from other companies will be stored.
Also, reserved instances will be used for virtual machines to reduce costs assuming that the number of resources required for the NursesRU application can be predicted. This application cannot handle unexpected workloads which is a risk.
Once committed to a specific cloud vendor, switching to another vendor poses a big challenge. A a new application will be developed as part of this strategy instead of migrating the existing one and new features will be incorporated, it requires intensive testing on the cloud.
Despite the availability of several advanced features in cloud platforms, an unexpected downtime can greatly affect not only the profits but also the customer’s trust.
