How the objectivization and sexualization change the viewer’s perception of the mythical creatures on screens?
Throughout this appraisal, I will look at sexualization in television and film and how it
is presented to us through good and evil characters, film directors use ‘objectification’ as a trend but never state where this might be coming from. Nevertheless, they use this tool as a weapon to make the audience believe the character is “the other”, with Television and films showing characters with a wider range of emotions than ever before, the audience will recognize the qualities that mythical creature possesses, but yet the viewer still considers them undesirable, this may well be due to numerous factors such as the viewer having no physical attraction, they find them vile and beastly and that they are out of place to what the
viewer knows. Film directors help portray mythical characters very well with makeup, camera trickery and acting this is to make the audience believe that the character being viewed is indeed the other and is real.
