Are there any terrorist organizations in Sri Lanka?
For many decades, Sri Lanka has been the area of clashes between the Buddhas of Signals and the Hindu Tamils. Even under British rule, disputes began between these two nationalities. The reason for the reluctance was the British favoring the Tamils. The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam is an organization gathering representatives of Tamil nationality in Sri Lanka. The terrorist activity of the LTTE consisted mainly of organizing armed attacks on eminent personalities of political life. As a result, they died and also for objects such as ships or airplanes. They are considered one of the best organized and trained anti-government organizations. Great Britain has been struggling with successive waves of modern terrorism against its citizens and national interests for several decades. On the basis of many years of experience, this country created the most comprehensive anti-terrorist legal system in the European Union and developed a coherent national strategy to combat the phenomenon of terrorism, implemented by a number of entities woven into a multi-level institutional and legal system. The British anti-terrorist legislation is included in the four directional laws: Terrorism Act 2000, Anti-Terrorism Crime and Security Act 2001, Prevention of Terrorism Act 2005, The Terrorism Act 2006.
