The Picture of Dorian Gray Questions: Chapter end of 7-10 (The Portrait)

“[the picture] held the secret of his life, and told his story. It had taught him to love his own beauty. Would it teach him to loathe his own soul? Would he ever look at it again?”(p78) Dorian: “There is something fatal about a portrait. It has a life of its own.” (p97) Discuss Dorian’s various reactions to the portrait throughout his life. Why does he move it to the attic? How does Lord Henry’s commentary on Dorian’s life situations affect Dorian’s opinion of the painting?
