SAFETY NEEDS – Psychological (freedom from fear) and physical (freedom from violence and abuse) our physical safety and feelings about if we are safe or not will have a huge influence and impact on someone’s thoughts, feelings, and behavior. I think this feature could be used to link Jackie’s development and behavior in some ways; as a child being abused, being in abusive relationships, being sectioned when mentally unstable and her alcoholism. I feel these life experiences and traumas has impacted on Jackie’s need to feel safe when someone doesn’t feel safe or lives in fear they tend to withdraw and not feel good about themselves making it difficult to think about meeting any other needs leaving Jackie unable to reach her full potential.
