What is ELISA?

ELISA is Enzyme-Linked immunosorbent (heterogeneous) assay, that by the use of antibodies and color change of reactions to determine a substance, it is a biochemical technique used in immunology to detect the presence of antibodies or receptors as well as antigens. The mechanism of ELISA is mostly involving at least one antibody with its specific antigen, using solid support the sample is immobilized and is ready to be used, then a detection antibody is added to the antigen sample this can give either a positive or negative result with them confirming or rejecting respectively for the specific antigen existence in the sample.
