Pedagogical works, including LeFrancois, suggest that “teaching involves implementing strategies designed to lead leaders to the attainment of certain goals”. Overall, these strategies involve communication, leadership, motivation, discipline and classroom management’. However, in today’s teaching, not only is their academic importance, but student growth and well-being are vital in the development of learner-teacher interactions. As well as a positive learning atmosphere, it is important for educators to adopt diverse styles of teaching such as those recognised by Coffield. They understand of both teaching and learning objectives; what they would like learners to achieve during a lesson. For instance, when delivering, using a ‘command’, it allows for decisions to be made by the teacher and are appropriate to continue control and safety. As the lesson progresses teaching styles may change, moving through practice, reciprocal approaches and inclusion. These styles, if used appropriately, can allow learners to also increase their capabilities. This may also develop awareness of time demands for individual practice, to improve performance and possibly share their knowledge with others.
